The TEMcompany team have been testing the new setup for FloaTEM while enjoying the beautiful Danish autumn weather. The new setup makes it very easy to turn the tTEM geoscanner into a floating device towed by a motorboat.
FloaTEM is widely used to map the interaction between surface water and groundwater or seabottom sediments. The depth of investigation on freshwater is 180 m, similar to tTEM. For mapping on salt or brackish water, the transmitter power is increased, and the expected depth of investigation is 15 – 30 m.
