From the 17th to – the 21st of September, TEMcompany is visiting India Water Week as part of a delegation from Denmark, organized jointly by The Trade Council of Denmark in South Asia based in New Delhi and the Confederation of Danish Industry. The delegation will visit during India Water Week and will combine the visit with a trip to Chennai (Tamil Nadu) led by the Danish Minister for Business, Industry, and Financial Affairs, Morten Bødskov.
India Water Week is the flagship event of the Indian Ministry of Jal Sakti (Water Resources), held once every two years with active participation from the central ministry and multiple states of India. This allows us to meet stakeholders of different states under the same roof in Delhi. The visit to Chennai will explore potential strategic sector cooperation with the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.
With Indian cities urbanizing rapidly, water resources are strained, and waste generation has surged, requiring the expansion of water supply networks and robust waste management systems. The government of India has implemented measures to provide drinking water access to all households, ensure water security, and improve wastewater treatment. However, the sector requires upgraded infrastructure, human capital development, and a focus on emerging pollutants in the water cycle.
